12-31-'14 RGI SA ceases to offer teak participations (old news)
RGI SA has decided to terminate the cooperation as last active provider of teak investments and thereby its sales activities.
Difficult market conditions and necessary cost reductions have forced RGI sa to decide with immediate effect by December 17, 2014 to cease with their offering of teak investments.
RGI SA offers teak investments since 17 years from its FSC certified plantations to the Dutch and Belgian market (AFM permit number 12010463). The projects have a duration of 15 or 20 years. The maintenance costs has increased while the fee for RGI sa declined due to lower sales revenues.
By the stagnation of revenues, the costs simply became too high and to difficult to apply. Therefore RGI SA has decided to discontinue the sale immediately.
What does this mean for you as a participant?
Ending the sales activity has provisionally no affect to the teak projects in Costa Rica. The maintenance will continue as normal. When there will be commercial thinnings on your plantation of participation, you will automatically be notified of this. However RGI SA will be looking for alternatives concerning your investments on the RGI SA projects.
What has changed is that the management offices, Teakwood International bv and the Teakwood organization in Belgium, ended their activities with immediate effect as of that date all agreements between them and RGI SA has been terminated.
Of course RGI SA want to provide you with the best possible answers. If you have any questions about your participation, please contact RGI SA in English.
With regards,
